There is one thing’ about a va cation which everyone enjoys: A vacation means a pleasant change from our usual activities which is helpful to us all. So, no matter how you plan to spend your vacation, we sincerely hope that you will find the rest and relaxation to which you are looking forward. Please be sure to take snap shots at the various places you visit and bring them back for THE CAROMOUNT NEWS! Poster Program Attacks Waste Problems WASTED EFFORT GOES NOWHERE... it production costs, mokes for higher prices, loses soles, ' everyone. CAREFUL! Too lote...Whatever fhe job, when good materiols ore wasted, everybody loses. Costs go up, sales go down, there’s less of everthing for all. The above pictures are a part of the current poster program be ing carried out at the Wilson and Caromount Divisions. Comments from President Malcolmi G. Jones concerning the series on “Waste” were: 66 Suppose a certain fabric sells for a dollar a yard. Now, suppose the Material that goes into that product costs 50 cents. Okay. But—suppose the material is wasted .... grease stained, torn, dyed badly—and instead of selling that one yard of fabric, we have to throw it out and make another. What happens? We’re paying for two pieces of material. That means the price of the finished product has to go up. And when the price is higher, customers won’t buy. So we lose sales. Business drops off. Jobs grow less secure. Everyone gets hurt. When waste cuts in, everybody loses. Waste takes—never gives anything to anyone.'^ Twenty Year Employees Honored At Meeting The annual meeting of the Shelton Looms Service Club was held at the Field House on Fri day night, June 24, with Hubert Sutton presiding.
